How to Survive as a Realtor in 2024. — Part Seven
You can find part one here, part two here, part three here, part four here, part five here, and part six here. Also, remember to grab your notebook.
Before we jump into the big-picture roadmap, which essentially outlines how to tackle world domination, lol, let me briefly touch on my editing process and the systems I have leaned into to make everything I have shared with you possible.
My Editing Process
The most important content you will make is video content. It has the lowest barrier of entry and is the most type of content for rapid growth. It also is the fastest way to establish “know, like, and trust.” People like seeing, hearing, and getting a feel for you. This can only be done in person or on video. And when you choose to do it on video, you use your time wisely—one-to-many vs. one-to-one.
Because we know the above to be accurate, I want to touch on my video editing process.
When I create video content, especially when I batch record “talking head” videos, I sit down with the aim of editing as little as possible. It is the main reason why I was able to gain rapid growth leaps and bounds ahead of my competition.
When I started YouTube, I did some driving tours, which needed minimal editing.
Today, if I film a driving tour, I silence the video, add some royalty-free music, add an overlay of text with a call to action (schedule a call with me, byjoandco.com/call), combine multiple clips, and add an end screen.
When I sit down to film a talking head video, I set up my iPhone on a tripod while paying careful attention to the placement of the objects behind me. Then, I reach forward and hit the record button. I rarely use a microphone, but I encourage you to do so. I sit and talk to the camera and sometimes glance at my notes.
My goal isn’t to be perfect but to be honest, genuine, and knowledgeable.
Remember that rule: talk about what you know. Anytime I veer from the things I know, like the back of my hand, I struggle, which is very noticeable.
I am okay with not being perfect. I stutter sometimes and have to correct myself after saying the wrong word. Sometimes, the dogs bark, and on a couple of occasions, the children walk into the frame while asking me silly questions.
I keep recording, and I rarely edit it out.
If I were to obsess over being perfect, which is impossible, I would be paralyzed and never get my content out into the world.
I am a perfectionist, so if I can let go, you can too.
Next, we are going to talk about systems.
Systems
I use many systems to make what I do possible with my small team.
They include ManyChat automation, a virtual assistant to help with social media posting and content syndication, follow-up automation in auto-emails, and e-alerts to my cold and lukewarm leads. I never use automation with my warm leads and hot leads.
Processes are the most important system you need to establish for everything you do in your business, including lead generation and all marketing efforts.
I know so much of what I am teaching you you have never done before, and you might feel lost, but if your processes are a hot mess, no one will want to work with you.
You must establish processes and stick to them as if your life depended on them.
So, how do we wrap all of this together?
Big Picture Roadmap
So, where do you go from here?
First, if you went through this series without a notebook, I want you to reread from part one to part seven with a notebook in hand and workbook this content.
Keep in mind that you can only begin with the right mindset.
Here are some options for obtaining a clear mindset:
Read Think & Grow Rich in Ten Minutes a Day by Napoleon Hill
Read any of the books on this list.

Then, the physical labor begins: pick your platform, decide upon your strategy, plan your content, create the systems to support your call to action and start creating content.
And the final piece to the puzzle? It is consistency. You must be consistent to win.
So, to win, you must be:
Honest, Genuine, and Likeable
Providing Value
A storyteller
Intentional
Consistent
Marcia Wieder said it best: “Commitment leads to action. Action brings your dream closer.”
What is your dream?
I believe to achieve a big dream, one must build something big.
You start with a foundation, which can be your first platform, and then you build upon that.
I am struggling to say goodbye to you. This series has been so much fun to create. I hope we can connect. My personal Instagram is https://instagram.com/jordanschilleci. Until then…
